COVID-19 Delaying Graduation Party? More Time To Plan!

Social distancing due to COVID-19, aka Coronavirus, may be inconvenient, but it is for a very good reason.

Besides, this does give you extra time to plan your graduation party. Head over to Geyer’s Services page and see what we all have in store for you!

Coronavirus Social Distancing & Graduation Parties

Waiting until July or August – after social distancing restrictions have hopefully lifted and the virus doesn’t present as much of a threat – gives you the advantage of fewer graduation parties to compete with, as well as not having to compete with some of the summer holidays like Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, and Independence Day.

Distance Learning & Friendships

The months of March and April, and possibly May will be spent learning from home rather than at school with their friends. Your graduate may feel lonelier than usual, and not feel as connected to their friends anymore. It’s your job as a parent to help them maintain that connection and keep their spirits up.

Quarantine and social distancing won’t last forever, and they will get to see their friends again. And it will be so much sweeter when they do.

Delayed Graduation Party Ideas For Late Summer

Let’s pretend the social distancing piece is finally over. You can gather in public again! It’s July or August, and it’s time to celebrate your grad in style!

Multi-Family Party

After all of this is over, or mostly over, we are going to cherish the ones we love ever so much more. If you have another graduate in the family, among friends, or in the neighborhood, it may be a good idea to combine the parties together to give them the most community possible before sending them off to college or the workforce.

Party In The Park

We’re also going to value our public spaces so much more. Hosting a party in the park can be more difficult to plan precisely as you’ll need to reserve space, but with the right permissions you can get a shelter, or order and have a large canopy set up.

Local Is As Local Does

It’s important to shop locally and keep our local economy going. Geyer Wedding and Event Rentals is a locally-owned and -operated company, and we’ve been in St. Cloud for decades. We encourage you to support not only us but other local companies as well for your catering needs.

COVID-19 Delaying Graduation Party? Don’t Worry

At the end of it all, the actual graduation party isn’t important. But the symbolism of your graduate moving from high school to college or the work world is. Delaying the graduation party for a few weeks or months because of social distancing and COVID-19 isn’t the end of the world. You’ll just need to plan appropriately and be ready when the time comes.
